Six departures from Women's First Team Confirmed

City boss Danny Murphy has today confirmed a number of departures from his squad, following the conclusion of the 2023 Women’s Premier Division Season.

Long serving defender Danielle Burke departs having made 144 competitive appearances for Cork City FC.

Since signing for the club in January 2016, the Passage native has featured in two FAI Cup Finals, winning the competition in 2017. She has worn the captains armband on a number of occasions and scored three goals in her City career. Dan leaves with the best wishes from everyone at the club.

City boss Danny Murphy said: “ Dan has been a fantastic servant for this football club for several years and we wish her the very best in her future endeavours ”

Kelly Leahy, Nadine Seward, Lauren Singleton and Faye Ahern also leave the club, while goalkeeper Abby McCarthy’s departure has also been confirmed.

Everyone at Cork City wishes the girls the very best of luck going forward.
